Holiday Volunteering with The Night Ministry
Wednesday, December 12th
$5 (plus fee)
Join CitySwarm for our fourth quarter holiday volunteering event, benefiting The Night Ministry and its clients! Once a quarter, CitySwarmers can donate their most precious resource - their time - and give back to the community in a fun, hassle-free way. We start by volunteering with a group of peers, and then hang out after to celebrate a job well done!
The Night Ministry is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, non-denominational organization serving youth and adults in need - regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or social status. Those served include homeless youth and adults, uninsured/underinsured individuals seeking medical assistance, working poor adults, the chronically lonely teens who need a safe place to gather, and others in need. The Night Ministry is conveniently located near the Brown Line and Metra station.
Starting at 6:30 PM, CitySwarm volunteers will be helping the Night Ministry by stuffing and checking holiday stockings to make sure that everything is not naughty but rather nice for the Ministry's 13th Annual Holiday Celebration! This annual celebration, looked forward to by all clients, includes a festive holiday meal, crafts, games, and of course, the stuffed holiday stocking.
The project will help make the winter holidays warm and happy for the Night Ministry's homeless clients. Also, your small volunteer fee will go towards a $5 gift card to Dunkin Donuts and McDonalds to help stuff the stockings.
After we complete our stocking stuffing, we'll head to nearby O'Shaughnessy's Public House to enjoy complimentary appetizers, daily drink specials, and more holiday cheer.
Space is very limited.
Street parking available near location as well.
